Ok, so I came down with one of those dreaded intestinal illnesses. It just wouldn't go away and I had a fever. So I went to a clinic. Not one single question was asked regarding medical history. No forms were filled out, although I did write my name and cellphone number on a scrap of paper. The "clinic" was a store front with 2 or 3 rooms made with sheets or drywall. There were no other patients there so the doctor hadn't come in. They called her and she came in. I saw her for 2 minutes, she gave me a shot and the receptionist/nurse gave me some pills, some of which I ran out of. I was to return in 3 days. It cost about $20. I returned in 3 days, because not surprisingly I still wasn't better. So, more pills and another $20. On day 10, it finally started to clear up but then I was off to Malaysia where I developed a sinus infection. So, I went another clinic at 8pm at night where again they asked no medical history. They gave me nose spray, lozenges, and an antibiotic which gave me a rash. I gave them $20. I have been to more doctors in the past 6 months including travel doctors before I left than I had been in the past 5 years. I feel it is just another way to experience a country.
